Today the infotainment system is stable and while I question the true-touch touchpad the integration with Android Auto works well and I am generally happy with it. #USED ACURA RDX WITH TECHNOLOGY PACKAGE CENTRAL OHIO SOFTWARE#"This started a few weeks after purchasing the vehicle and has now finally been fixed by a software update. Had I realised this I PROBABLY would not have leased it!!!" Sometimes that helps sometimes it doesn't." I have to unplug the usb cord from the vehicle them plug it back in. "Sometimes the Apple Car Play doesn't connect when plugged in. "The entertainment system is very glitchy and on multiple occasions and blacked out completely, leaving me with no radio, no clock, no navigation, the screen was completely blank." ![]() Acura suggested a complete reset of the infotainment system that I have yet to do as it requires resetting favorites and settings." Wife doesn't have problem with her iPhone. "Frequent disconnecting and reconnecting with my iPhone when connected with Apple brand cable. "It will sometimes disconnect but the phone thinks it is still on a call so the audio system stops from playing" The dealer reloaded the software but I'm not convinced that the problem won't recur." ![]() ![]() The NAV screen also stayed on, even after the car was turned off. "The system froze and all entertainment and NAV systems were inoperable. That’s why I prefer the CarPlay nav apps." Now I have to pull over and either switch to a Bluetooth connection with no on screen maps or input the address into the cars nav system, which is not very accurate or fast. I’m in an unfamiliar area searching for a location and the app drops out and leaves my driving blind. This is annoying when playing music, but is disastrous when it drops out in the middle of navigation apps. "Apple CarPlay consistently disconnects whether actively using an app or just in standby mode. There have been several software updates for the car which has helped but not complexity eliminated the problem. A small percentage of time the system would remain on even after the car was turned off requiring me to pull the battery or fuse (the dealer recommended solution!). I have to turn off the car and restart to get the infotainment system to work. No media of any kind (FM, XM, CarPlay) will work. "When using CarPlay the system occasionally completely freezes. "doesnt work at all.hasnt worker in a year.just havent had time to fix it." A software fix was downloaded in Jan 2020" "Apple car play dropped all the time for the first 13 months. Acura has had issues with this system and continues to send updates to download." #USED ACURA RDX WITH TECHNOLOGY PACKAGE CENTRAL OHIO FULL#we have had a full replacement of the motherboard for the infotainment system under warranty and that only partially addressed the issues. The hands-free calling feature doesn't hear my voice accurately and calls the wrong number half the time." If I enter a destination on my phone, and then plug the phone into CarPlay, the destination disappears and I have to enter it again. For example, it will not connect properly using Google maps, but it will connect using Waze. Sometimes it connects and sometimes it doesn't. "The Apple Car Play feature is very finicky. It won't work again until the car has been turned on and off" There have been various problems, but now Apple CarPlay will only work for about 5 - 10 minutes before it simply quits. "Apple CarPlay has not ever worked correctly with the 2019 RDX since I leased it new. Acura's only solution was to do a hard reset of the system which did not solve the problem." This also affects the steering wheel controls occasionally. It seems to be related to Apple car play. "The infotainment system freezes and it goes blank. Along with many other owners, I tired of Acura denying there was a problem." #USED ACURA RDX WITH TECHNOLOGY PACKAGE CENTRAL OHIO UPDATE#It seems to be working ok since the last firmware update earlier this year, but this is my last Acura. However, it took 1 1/2 years of firmware updates and constant denials from Acura before CarPlay seemed to stabilize. After rebooting the infotainment system a couple times, Bluetooth seemed to work ok. The day I bought the car, both Bluetooth and CarPlay were dropping their connection and Bluetooth couldn't connect with my directory. "I bought the car primarily because it offered Apple CarPlay. Between iOS updates and Acura software updates I was able to do myself it is working well now." I think it had something to do with iOS updates. "After a few months CarPlay would stop working after about 5 minutes. "When purchased, Apple system was in place. The touch and controls are different from normal" "It just does not work with all the apps.
